My good friend Juliette Montague ( is on her way down from Columbus Ohio for our annual Appalachian Art Vacay, usually consisting of art making, domestic foolery (last year: homemade yogurt and pasta – hopefully I will learn how to make a PIE this time!), and the mandatory PEDDLERS MALL visitation.

As I just signed my “Memo Of Understanding”, it is probably safe to announce that I will be teaching at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, July 20-26 (2014), doing my “The Stitched Canvas” class.  Oh happy day!  Adding this to the John C. Campbell Folk School for next summer means I will be taking western NC by storm in a year.

On the exhibition front, I am frantically preparing work to be dropped off at the Lexington Living Arts and Science Center next Friday (including a piece that is not quite finished…..) for a three person textile exhibition which runs from August 14 – October 5, and has a reception in conjunction with Lexington’s gallery hop on Friday, September 20.  Also just received an e-mail from my friend Courtney Kessel (, new exhibition coordinator at the Dairy Barn Arts Center up in Athens OH that my piece “Golden Girl” was accepted into the OH+5 exhibition.  That girl is sure getting around!
