New smalls (bon mots) & other news

So, under the thumb of many a deadline, and just because they are more fun to make, I’ve been cranking out some small pieces that I think I am generally going to start to refer to as my “bon mots”.

Other than that, and dealing with exhibition rotation @ the Claypool-Young Art Gallery, I’ve been on a tear with sending out exhibition and workshop proposals.  Of course, with that comes rejection – my favorite latest one is from a show that was to have an “emphasis on works that explore abundant decoration, obsessive techniques, and peculiar narratives or concepts”. Nah, that’s not my work at all (read with dripping sarcasm).  And it’s a show in the region no less. Oh well . . . onwards!

This Saturday I’ll be in Lexington given a day-long workshop on Professional Presentation for the Artist for the Kentucky Women’s Photographers Network.  Should be a lot of fun – but there’s lots of prep work!  But, I’ve been thinking about starting these up again, since I used to do them quite a bit, mainly for groups in Kentucky.
